SCDI was incorporated in February 2001 by its President and Executive Director, Stephen I. Feher, and two other founding Board members, the late James A. Roberts, PhD., an environmental and community development professional, who served as SCDI’s initial technical advisor; and Peter Gray, a Washington, D.C. attorney, who serves as SCDI’s corporate secretary and general council, since its formation. Current members of the Board beside SCDI’s President and Executive Director, Stephen Feher, include Elisabeth Feher, Vice President and Treasurer, with extensive banking background; Gary MacDonald, a community engagement and conflict professional; George Wood, an environmental professional; Robert Valtz, a highly successful businessman and former government and World Bank official; and Timothy McLaughlin, also a community engagement and conflict professional.
